Who is going to buy a 2013 GT500 ?
I am interested as to who will be buying the GT500 and how you want it equipped. Who on this site will buy one ?
I plan on buying a Race Red 2013 GT500 with the PP.

I am going to see if I can swing it but I am waiting on the prices. I don't think I am going to get the PP since from what I have read the upgrade is just the wheel and the bilstien suspension with push button sport mode.
I would like the recaros, no stripes, nav, and shaker pro.

I'll pass. The rumblings on upgrades for the '13 of the past few months were not a factor deciding on the '12, its limited availibility and likely jacked up prices were. For the lucky ones the '13 GT500 will be like having a Viper or a ZR1.
The current SVTPP is all I ever wanted in a Mustang and a bit more though it was a long wait. I couldn't have written a better wish list with all its goodies myself.

Probably just jinxed it.

Well what do you think the average markup over msrp will be? I was at two dealers near where I live that had a 20K market adjustment on the 2007 GT500's. And they sold.
That's what stopped me cold in 2007 and I bought a BMW. We'll see what happens this time.

I have an understanding with the dealer. If that changes I will be SOL. We shall see. I'm second in line with a deposit. They should get 2 allocations if not 3.
I've bought a lot of cars from this dealer and I know the GM well. But he got screwed on his allocation of the LS because the parent dealership in Houston took it from him. If the same happens with the Shelby then I'll sit it out and wait. I'm not gonna chase the car. I don't need it. But I'd like to have it.

I'll wait until 2014 before going with a GT500. That way, the issues will be mostly known and if I play my cards right, I'll one hell of a deal on a '13 or a used '13. Probably wait it out till late '14.
If the new GT500 does to the 2011 and 2012 GT500's that the new 5.0L did to the prior 4.6L Mustang's resale value wise, I may end up with a 5.4L GT500 and doing some upgrades. Will just have to wait and see.

Just like back in 2010 when chevy dealerships were charging 3 to 4000 dollars over msrp for the new camaro. As long as some buyer out there is willing to pay the over inflated prices then the dealerships are gonna sock it to the customers

While I would like one it all comes down to pricing. I liked having my 2011 GT500 but the 1-2 shift grind made it less enjoyable than I would have liked. They say they have addressed it in the 2013 and if so it has my interest.
So far, I dont get the impression there are very many on this site who will be buying a 2013 GT500. As far as I know, the 2013 GT500 is to be produced in the same numbers as in previous model years. I have not heard the 2013 GT500 will be a more limited production model . If there are fewer buyers because of fear of the price being too high, I guess I may than have a better opportunity to find a dealer willing to deal.
If I could, I would order a competition orange GT500. Since CO is not an option, I will go with the Race Red. Too bad Ford does not offer the same colors for all Mustangs. I would think they could save money by offerering the same colors on all models.
I have not decided on the type of seats I want yet. I will have to see examples of the available seats and try them before I decide.

Here is the thing with the 2013 GT500. Yeah it seems like its going to be awesome. However, the GT with the new track package and the Boss seem like better performance values. Unless your the kind of guy that has money for an expensive toy. The GT500 is not a practical all season driver in areas of the country that see all four seasons. I liked have my 2011 and 2010 before that but it pretty much required to me to have a second car. $1k a month in car payments isn't fun.
Oh I will add the Boss pretty much will require a second car too just not as high of a starting price.

I own a boss currently, and it's my only car. but I live in CA, so I don't have to worry about '4 seasons'
I think any new mustang is a fantastic bargain for a performance car...can't go wrong. but I think the '12 boss - with it's older styling, and the '13 gt500 - with it's insane capabilities, are going to be keepers.
