Shelby to stick around

To me , the Shelby GT500 is engineered by Ford SVT to be a Shelby GT500 that is good enough to be approved by Shelby himself. I dont think SVT has enough clout within Ford to continuously be allowed to increase the horsepower of the GT500. Since Shelby has his name on the GT500, he can have the final say as to what direction the performance of the GT500 will go. We all need Shelby as our representative at Ford.

Seconded, even though I've only been in the Mustang legacy for a year now. The SVT program went online for a reason and when John Coletti left the franchise a lot of that greatness that SVT stood for left with him. SVT badges their name on the underside of the bonnet in the GT500's nowadays but seriously, who noticed besides you or I?
Having read what I have thus far on the next generation Mustang, it's sounding very much like a european look with Mustang "cues." To me, that means Aston Martin with Mustang head- and taillights. I'm expecting quite a change, and the '14 will almost certainly be the last fully American Mustang Ford builds. Kinda sad.

I am glad you have gathered more then the car mags and ford. Crystal ball??

Supposedly the redesign will look a little Aston Martinish. From what I have heard. But will still have the traditional 3 bar taillights. Still I am not 100% sure about this but it seems fairly reliable. Sorry i dont have any pics or anything not sure if the pic has been posted on HPS already.

Change is inevitable, you can work against it of roll with the punches. Ford is trying to appeal to a new market model after model in the Mustang line-up. To progress forward is only a good business decision, if you stick with the same basic layout of a vehicle with only minor tweaks to it, people will grow bored with your product because it's yesterday's news. Just think of the resurgence for GM if they were to put out a Camaro that was a throwback to the late 60's model years. People would jump on that like they did the S197's when they rolled out in the 05 model year and the Challenger's when they were brought back to. Ford plays it safe and knows how to take calculated moves, and a new body style just means they are attempting to mod forward. Could you imagine what a fox body would look and handle like if it were brought back today..?
