We all should be thankfull Shelby has his name on the GT500. As long as Shelby has his name on the GT500, he will ensure the GT500 has more horsepower than the competition. The GT500 does not have to have any parts from Shelby America to be a Shelby GT500. All the GT500 needs is to have approval from Shelby that the GT500 is powerfull enough to satisfy him.

And Kylerohde, SVT's name is on the GT500 in several places. But the GT500 has always been known as a Shelby GT500 not a SVT GT500. Yes SVT did do awesome work with the car. And yes with some input from Carroll Shelby. Now I'm saying he built the car so relax people. Just input. The would happen even if Carroll didn't give any input but would it be at the level it is today? How do we know the car wouldn't have maybe 500 hp today? We don't. So nobody really knows where the car would be or how much it would cost if it didn't have the Shelby emblems on it.

Besides Ford, I'd buy some cars powered by Ford, and I'd buy Lotus. Chapman+Ford engineering goes way back. Ford has partnered with a number of others over the years. But no bratwurst cars for me. Afraid to know where their 'leather' comes from.

I still don't get it, but at this point it just doesn't matter that much anymore. To me, the GT500 is a Ford Mustang with Shelby's name on it. I'd buy the '13 car whether it was a GT500 or a Cobra.

When my 2013 Shelby GT500 arrives sometime this summer will I then be allowed to come back to this thread and say the things I've said all along with credibility in some of your eyes?
Will I give a **** that people who share my thoughts are called haters and jealous?
When I remove the Shelby letters off the trunk will the old man come and take my keys away in my sleep?
Some people seem to love him as much as they claim others hate him.
