I hear you. I couldn't live with the tail lights of the 2010-12. These aren't necessarily perfect but they are different.

If having the car means I have to have a shiny blackout panel I can live with that.

 

 

Actually, for the sake of accuracy, it should really be mentioned here that Shelby American actually did design the body for the 427 Cobra roadster and the small block powered Daytona Coupes before that though the 427 roadsters obviously owed a lot of inspiration to the Ace based models that proceeded them. And if we are going to give credit for that basic Ace design we'll need to go back to John Tojeiro who designed the car that would later be developed into the Ace by AC, and then to Ferrari who almost certainly inspired him. And, in the end, a big part of why Shelby couldn't trademark even the 427 roadster design was that the use of that basic shape was just too common historically as we see above.

If you don't like the Shelby name, then do what some on here are doing and pop it off and the problem is solved. As for SVT getting the short end of the stick here, SVT is a Ford engineering department who does their 40 plus and gets a paycheck just like every other engineering department at FoMoCo. The only people Ford is making sure don't get shortchanged by the name of this car, is Ford itself...and I'm alright with that.

If SVT made a mustang, I'd be all for it. Just leave off the Shelby, cobra, 500, and I'm on the fence about leaving off the lemans stripes, but for now, you can keep those. lol
