That's what I tell people but they scoff when they look at the times. The times DO NOT show the whole story. The seat of the pants and the fun factor of these cars doesn't even compare. Its a blast. I don't care what the times are, I drive mine on the street, the the rush this thing gives is on another level. Its a freaking blast to drive, and the sensations you get are wonderful. You just can't beat torque when it comes to fun on the street.

Look, I'm a Ford man. I bleed Ford blue. I have no doubt that the 5.0 cars are awesome, the GT and the Boss. And I'll readily admit that a hotshoe could smoke my *** in one of them in the right conditions. I have no problem with that.

But, these cars are different in day to day driving on the street. I might get my *** smoked by a 5.0, but there is something different about these GT500s. When I'm cruising around, the torque is intoxicating. Its wonderful. You've owned a 5.0, you now know what I'm talking about.

Its a different beast on the street when riding around. There is just something out of the ordinary about it when you step on on the loud pedal.

My buddy has a ZR1 and we were cruising down the highway side by side and an open stretch came up. Downshifted at 80 MPH and punched it and I was AMAZED how quick this car took off and kept accelerating. He followed and quickly caught me but he commented how quickly I left him. It left me feeling like the first time you get into your girlfriends bra in 9th grade... giddy!!

Pic of buddies ZR1 right after he got it delivered to his house

Congrats on the upgrade!
Reminder to those of us that might consider the 5.0 instead ... "There is just something out of the ordinary about it when you step on on the loud pedal."

You have consider the application.

My wife doesn't drive stick, so for day to day , the Shelby was out. As much as I'm enjoying the 5.0 vert in automatic don't make any concessions, if you don't have too.

If you can afford the Shelby, then do it. If you can't, then wait until you can.
Don't settle, life is to short.
