2010 GT500!
Beats me. My guess would be it is EPA related.
All I know is Ford's window sticker on the inside of the passenger side window clearly states it is not street legal and the rectangular space where that information appears is corvered (more like concealed) with a stick on picture of a silver w/blue stripes GT500KR on the outside of the window. I'm sure that is not Ford's idea of providing full disclosure.
Apparently most Ford dealers were clueless and found out about this minor technicality only after taking delivery.
Ooooops!

I believe this is because of the modifications done at Shelby. The pre-KR GT-500 sent to SAI is not legal to sell because it has not gone through all the final testing (emissions, etc). Shelby does the KR mods and get's it tested, making it legal for sale. There are a couple of other stickers on the car that kind of spell it out..

Would you know if auto manufacturers are required by the EPA to test every vehicle for emissions tests before it leaves the factory? My understaning is emissions tests are performed on individual models with certification approval based on testing a specific quantity of each individual model.
I guess the bottom line is I'm glad that GT500 production will continue straight into the new body style. This is a dream come true for those of us looking to buy a used example or pick one up at MSRP... I remember being so bitter when I had my money ready and I couldn't find a dealership that could give me one at MSRP.....

If I buy one I'd consider painting the extractor body color, I think it would look better that way. I'm also sure for those willing to spend the money that the after market will provide alternatives to this hood along with the rear bumper and tail lights that people seem to dislike so much.
Does anyone remember how much faster the KR was from the regular GT500? From what I recall it was a much better handler, not sure if the extra 40HP gave it a huge boost in acceleration. From what I can gather this car should perform just as good as the KR, hopefully even better.
All this new Mustang stuff is killing me. I don't know what I should do for my next purchase I been tossing for months between a current gen GT (modded), GT500 and now I can add the 10' GT500 to my list...Next year we should get the 5.0 so I'm thinking saving my money and biding my time may be the best option.

Suddenly it's 1969 all over again.
Does anyone know what the current KR's 0-60 times are?

I definitely don't envy which choice your going to have to make, as their all very good options to choose from. All I know, is I'd have a very difficult time in deciding which Mustang to select from
