So I Know you keep more of a netral tone on the site. What is your opinion on the new stang? Will you trade in the 06 Vert for a 2010? Maybe even a Shelby?
Love to hear what you have to say!
I look at my car about 60 seconds every day, walking from my front door to my car and from my office to my car. I spend 60 minutes every day inside it, so the 2010 interior and convenience features are very appealing. While it's a great time to buy a Mustang, it's not such a great time to sell one, so I'll keep mine for a few more months. And while the 4.6L 3V is a great engine, the prospect of getting a 5.0L 4V in the 2011 Mustang GT is just too much to make me jump early. Also, I'm anxious to see what Saleen, Roush, SMS, and Shelby do with their models.

Thanks for the reply Brad!
For myself the 2010 is not for me at this time, I'm still paying for the 05 and that should be done in a year or so.I really like my 05 Mustang and I know I would regret selling it, my plans were to keep it for 20 years and I will as a summer driver only. But the 2011 302 Appeals to me and if I was to buy that would be the one for me. I just will have to make more room in the stable for another stang if it's to come.
I look forward to seeing the new stangs when they show up at the dealership, it's going to be a great spring this year!

Minimal if any. From the press release tidbits the aluminum power dome hood seems to be the only indication of weight difference. Perhaps the 19' wheels?

I love the Kona Blue color! In my opinion it is the most complimentary color for the shape of the redesigned car.

Now like many others on here, there are a few things that I dislike on the new car. The most obviosu is the new rear end, which looks completely out of place. It reminds me of what I'd expect to see on an import (i.e. Mazda). I also don't care for the lower grille opening on the GT-500 as it looks too large and bulbous.

The appeal of the 2005-2009's was the fact that it was immediately recognizable as a Mustang. With the new front and rear fascia's I think the 2010 has lost that instant recognition.

Now there are a few areas that are vast improvements over the last generation. The biggest being the interior. The quality of materials and workmanship is far superior to that found in the 2005-2009's. This is the type of interior you'd expect to find in a high end Mustang. In addition the fact we increased both the MPG and horsepower rating tells me Ford is on the right track. I like the look of the new wheel offering, but would be concerned about tire availability as there just aren't as many tire offering for a 19 inch wheel as there are for either 18 or 20's. I love the new rear fender 'hips' which I wish had been incorporated into 2005-2009's. The little hips add a lot of character to the side view of the car.

Overall, I'd give it an 8 out of 10, but it's just not enough to get me to trade in mine.

Ripstang.....that's how I felt about my '99, so when I bought the '08, I kept the '99 too. ....and I'm definitely glad I did.

It seems the '07 - '09 GT500s reflected its cues to the 1968 GT500 where the 2010 progresses to reflect more to the '69 - '70 Boss design.

I agree let's see the engine shots

I had one of the early model GT500 convertibles and it was fun to drive but felt heavy. I built a turbo Mustang GT that made a bit more power (with a ton more effort to get there) and it felt better and handled better too. It just felt like a better package. However I was always jealous when I saw other GT500's as if I lost a bit of status. I want to sell my turbo hard top so I can buy a 2010 GT500 Convert again

I hope Ford used it's cues from the '01 and '08 Bullitts to tune the exhaust note. If that is the case it will sound fantastic.

I've always thought that the Bullitt had the best balanced exhaust note of any stock Mustang. Its loud when I want it but I can still talk inside of it

As for the car, there are some angles that I dig, some that make the car look gross. Its a bit of a case by case thing for me. I like it much better in the metallic blue (kona blue is it?) versus whatever kind of silver that is.

That nose just... bugs me. I prefer the GT nose by far

The few shortcomings will disappear once the GT500 hits the dealers. It'll grow on you and the rest of us like every other previous Mustang...

... well, maybe with the exception of the Mustang II.

The California Dream hood and the KR's were highly celebrated yet a higher front was created with three levels of openings while the '10 GT500 condenses basically the same amount of opening to the lower and higher front fascia. It boils down to a very similar design concept.
