Phil, I was very disappointed to learn that you lost your job, as I know how much you've been wanting to get a used low mile GT500. And if anybody truly deserves one, it's you.

So in the meantime, try to hang in there, as I'm sure the right job will come along soon.

Thanks Rocky, I appreciate your concern. It kinda sucks what has happened but I know people who are way worse off than me. Once I get back on my feet I’ll get a GT500 (my fiancé can't graduate from nursing school soon enough). My main goal now is making sure I can hold onto the 03' Cobra.
Can’t wait until we have another topic that we can debate on.... It's always fun

well, hopefully you can hold onto the Cobra...at least you still have that car, which may not be as desirable, but still is desirable.

Getting back to the rear of the Mustang, believe it or not, it will grow on you if you give it a chance. Perhaps it will make the '05-'09's look a little dated (in time of course). It's always tough to agree about the look of any change to a successful model, but the Mustang had to take on an edgier "moving forward" design, and I believe it has achieved this. And I think sales will show this.

You just may have your wish, as there's been a heated debate going on at the following thread below

http://forums.bradbarnett.net/showthread.php?t=472826

However there's a huge difference between a friendly debate between fellow enthusiasts/friends than getting into arguments/fights, in which I hate getting involved in.

And of course you do realize that a GM fanboy, provoked it by bashing the Mustang.

Not necessarily. The "progress" of the late 90s Porsche 911 never really caught on. I keep trying to like it, it just hasn't grown on me yet. I need to see it in person. I do really like most of the rest of the car (all but the huge plastic hole in the middle of the hood).

I guess all I am saying is people shouldn't make their final decision about it until they see it in person...

I am convinced. I've seen enough Mustangs in my lifetime to know the '10 GT500 is the best all aroung high performance Mustang ever and it could very well be one of the last.

God knows I hate to agree with George (my new sworn enemy)...but I agree with George.

This WILL be the best one yet...and may be the last one ever.

hopefully not, but with the way the economy and government interference is going, then probably yes.

I think it will. My point was that it isn't a given. It remains to be seen.

The Mustang has survived difficult times before. If Ford survives, I think the Mustang survives. Although it may less powerful. I know I am planning to hang on to mine.

Those are the key words right there. With the economy in the toilet and a renewed push towards energy conservation and green technology, I suspect the uber-Stangs from Ford will be less "uber" in the future. I can easily envision a situation in another six years (or less) where the most powerful top dog Mustang will be an EcoBoost V6 making 350 HP.

Yes, as George so aptly stated, we may envy the 2010 GT500 in a shorter time period than we think now. And it may just be the last of the true BIG musclecars, at least by raw HP numbers. But not to worry though, that EcoBoost V6 making 350HP may just blow the doors off the current 2010 GT500 if it is developed in the right direction. North American car production/development has barely scratched the surface of decade-old Formula One technology. Perhaps the best is yet to come..................
