Ford led the public to believe that these cars were going to be "rare," they aren't really.
Actually Ford never meant for the GT500 to be a "rare" car. Would they be more rare than the regular Mustang...well of course. However, Ford from the outset they would build as many as they could and should be able to meet consumers demand.

I think it's great that there's over 20,000 500HP factory Mustangs running around. I say make as many as you can, hell,i've only seen ONE out in the wild, and that's a shame. I hate the thought of people putting these cars up and not driving them, what a waste! Ships are safest in the harbor, but that's not what ships are for.
As soon as a used GT500 hits 25K,i'm all over it and i'm driving the crap out of that car.

Clone that formula over to the GT500 and you'd have a winner, IMO.

The 2010 GT500 may already be part way there - it has a much better quality interior, more amenities and technology...all it would need is a well designed IRS, better brakes at all four wheels, and ideally an aluminum block for better weight distribution.
try comparing the gt500 to a m3 when the road actually turns
