This Boss 302 is the same car that is the subject of a two part article in the magazine 5.0 Mustang & Super Fords. In that article, Editor Steve Turner covers the build up of the car and then in the second part, shows a before and after test. Part 1 is in their January issue and Part 2 of the article is in their February issue which just hit the newsstands. We strongly encourage everyone to read these unbiased articles.
Suffice to say, comparing stock to modified, the Steeda Certified conversion literally spanked the stock Laguna Seca, beating it's stock performance in all categories. This is not to say that the stock Laguna Seca is inferior - rather it is a very-very good performing street and track machine. We just wanted to showcase that we could make it even better - without compromising NVA. And all of these comparisons were done with the stock wheels and tires - then we swapped out the stock rolling gear…saved an additional 10 pounds of unsprung weight at each corner, and further improved our performance and we achieved near perfect 50/50 weight distribution with our suspension corner balancing.
We dress all of our Serialized vehicles up with decals ... it is our way of distinguishing our car from others on the road ... like Stangfoeva stated ... they are not screwed on.
From the January issue we explained that a stock Boss LS was .99 G on the skid pad in stock form ... 1.03 G with Steeda suspension components ... a stock GT is .91.
The # seems small, but on the street and on the track it is a huge difference lap after lap.
Best Regards,
TJ
