for "illegal" on the side window, on a car that had just passed inspection !
BTW- illegal tint in Mass= $250

In Missouri they use a light transmitting gauge. Where they are getting people is they put the legal tint on but do not take in account the factory tint already on the glass and are getting tickets for 2 or 3 % over the limit. BS.

Just got a ticket for my tint from a state cop in Alabama. He said my tint was 14%, and the legal in bama is 34%. I honestly don't know what my tint is, as it was on there when we bought the car, but I think it's still a bs ticket. I didn't know they even still checked it, and I don't think my tint is really 14%, I've seen cars with a lot darker tint then mine but nothing ever happens to them.

As per this:
http://www.tintcenter.com/laws/FL/
Which is none below the AS-1 line on the front, 28% on the main sides, and 15% on the backs.
Ha , Fl has a Medical Exemption for darker tint :
Medical Exemption State allows medical exemptions for special tint. For more details about the specific terms of the exemption, consult your state law.
I may need to check into that and get my wifes Dr to write her a prescription for it since she can only handle so much U.V. light due to chemotherapy , Probably not worth the hassle of removing existing tint. Also years ago was told from the body shop that did one of my vehicles that if it is used for work then Limo tint is allowed , does it count if my car gets me to and from work ?

That's pretty sorry to be pulled over for tint and get a ticket
There are so many other things going on that they should be spending their time on.....totally ridiculous!!
