No point in doing cams boys NA unless you do heads too. On these cars its pretty much a waste if you don't do them together...especially from a financial side

Good point Dave-O. I was just saying since the engine is apart for the cams do the heads while you're at it.

I think for someone that is wanting a more rough idle and some added HP...go for cams if you want to spend the money. LarryH that is building motors for a lot of mustangers out there claims 17-25hp and that its not a waste. Yes its more benificial to do the heads...but some dont want to go that far. HP isnt everything Jeff

I meant a waste as far as money due to having to tear down the block twice; once for cams and once for heads. You do gain some HP NA with cams if it is matched correctly and installed correctly and tuned correctly.

I didn't mean for it to be. I was just saying what I had heard about heads and cams. Anyone can do what they want because the bottom line is horsepower is horsepower and gained power is gained power. The faster you go the better no matter how you do it. Sorry to offend your eyes Paulie...

my engine was already apart so i had the new cams put in on the rebuild. it did make a diff in horsepower. how much we will see sat on the dyno!

the headers are done and i sound like i have glass packs on my exhaust but not that much louder than before. of course it was pretty loud to start with. i also got the raptor shift light wired in and it is ready to go.

Really there is no tear down invoved for the cams other than the cam covers. But still a little pricey for the gains.
