Ran into a red fox body vert tonight with a built motor and procharger installed. Really great guy. Said hes having some driving issues...its missing he thinks. Its an auto and when he goes WOT its fine BUT during everday driving it has issues

Has TFS heads, Edlebrock performer upper and lower intake, Pro Flow Mass Air, 42lb injectors, high flow fuel pump, 3:73 gears, long tube headers, and full exhaust.... thats all I could see.

I remember their being issues with low speed idle with the fox cars because the MAF sensors were prone to some sort of issue when FI was being used. I bet if you can burn a custom chip it would smooth things out. Plus 42 lb injectors and an improper FMU could be to blame.

 

Could also be that it was tuned only on the dyno. A lot of times cars that are done only on the dyno have bad street manners. The only way to fix that is to tune it on the street also

 

David your theory about the MAF could be true.... His engine builder went out of business here in Tulsa so he cant bring it to him. Before he went out of business he did say something about the air going across the Maf at a high velocity caused some issues. Not sure how to fix that.... when he gets on it his check engine light comes on....when he gets out of it the check engine light goes back off.

 

I really just need to open a shop. Or perhaps go to work for a good shop.
