i have 3 tickets to the osu\a&m b-ball game tom at 1pm. if you want them pm me.
I'm back..
Never did see a whale shark...
But still had a bunch of great dives and unique experiences.... On one dive I had a Remora attach itself to me a stayed with me the whole dive. That was until a Spotted Eagle Ray cruised by and it shot off to attach itself to it. Remora are those sucker fish that attached themsleves to Whale Sharks, Rays, etc. Pretty cool. On one of the night dives, we got caught in a Bait Ball of Blue Chromis (Blue reef fish about 4-5 inches long). It formed right over us and was made up of 1000's of fish. We were getting pelted by them as two Baracudas darted in and out of the ball feeding. Feeding frenzy. Pretty crazy.
One morning right before our morning dives there was a storm right off the coast. We sat and watched while 3 seperate water spouts formed about 1/2 mile off the coast.
Many more tales... so little time.
Couple more... notice the Airport Terminal... No Starbucks there...
Hey glad to hear your trip was good. Must be nice to have relaxed in the tropical sun while the rest of us froze our buns off.
More pics please.
More pics please.
great pics paul!!!
I know what your saying about south american airlines. I flew a couple times on Aviateca air and thought for sure I was gonna die.
Very cool!!
Fantastic pics!!! Looks like it was a great get-a-way!!!!
Oh by the way, several US airlines have there heavy overhaul jet maintenance done in South America.
American doesn't. We do all heavy maintenance here in the great USA!!

Oh... The airlines. On our way home, the Utila to Honduras leg... they spent 30 mins trying to rearrange all the luggage to get it to fit. All the luggage goes in the rear. Now I know a few things about weight and balance in regards to aircraft. I also know dive gear is friggin heavy... It weighs a tad more than t-shirts and shorts... Picture 20+ large bags of dive gear each weighing 50 pounds each stacked (read: crammed) in the tail of the plane. Other luggage was shoved in every other crack or hole availiable on plane. Not to mention every seat was full. You get the picture...
With the pilot out there shacking his head, I went up and asked him, "Do you think it's too heavy to get off the ground?". He actually looked at me and gave me the stupid little laugh you only hear in the movies. You know the one... It said, "This is Central America ya gringo. We have no stupid rules!"
They even attached a prop or jack type thing to the rear of the plane while loading all the luggage in case it got to heavy in back, the plane would tip, lifting the front end in the air and damage the tail section. No ****... We we're WAY over weight. It took the whole runway to get airbourne. I really thought we were going end up in the ocean which was right at the end of the runway.
Keep in mind, I've traveled all over the world and am not nervous about flying at all. But... this flight scared the crap of me...
OH! Not too mention... Right before we got on the flight Sherly (The lady from the resort) was telling us that an Air Roatan Flight crashed the day before. Roatan is the island right next to Utila...

Thats a good one.
The way it should be...
The plane was ready for the Heavy C. It was pretty rough. Bald tires, etc. It was actually late because one of the engines wouldn't start....
I'm surprised you didn't have to fly in the luggage compartment Paul.
