i loved the KR hood being Carbon Fiber, loved the design and the hood pins it came with..

not sure how the other hood will look, but being a perfectionist i know it will look nothing like the KR hood to me (although everyone keeps saying it's so similar.. well it's obviously a different hood anyway!)
I hear ya. I am not expecting this hood to come out at all. I expect to see one that looks like the TruFiber one....flat across the front to fit the stock GT fascia. If it doesn't follow the body lines like the real KR hood, it will be a total flop.

Have anyone contact Trufiber to see if they are willing to make the KR hood for the GT500 fascia. The last time I saw a thread that they are willing to make them if people can get an order of 5-10 hoods. You gotta make it worth while for them to start producing them because of the high cost

I am sure if enough people are in for a group buy...I am sure they will consider it...because right now, they dont see much demand on the hood so they are not going to produce them. Its all about the demand....

.....jst a though...I think it worth a try.......

Yeah there's an idea. We can get 10-15 people to buy one for sure if they'd do that. Tell them if they send me one for free...I'll get 20 people to buy one!

I am sure you can contact them yourself. I dont have gt500 front fascia so I dont really need it. They are e z do deal with so you shouldnt have a problem....rt now, they have something similiar to the KR but for the GT. they have a group by started by YaoNYC http://forums.bradbarnett.net/showthread.php?t=61987

he started the group by and Trufiber ofer freeshipping....
you might want to contact YaoNYC to see how he was able to get Trufiber to make the GTS...

and if you have enough people, you might get one for free...

How about we wait to see it before we are bummed it looks cool, it has the hood pins as well. The hood is fiberglass, but we did that to keep the costs down, carbon fiber is very expensive, other then that, you will like the hood

Looks like Cervini's has one for the GT Mustang.

https://www.cervinis.com/large.aspx?img=1177_820.jpg

They also have the heat-extractor type of the regular GT500 (this is the one I'm thinking about getting).

Yeah those have been posted before. I would certainly get the Cervinis one if Shelby didn't get me totally hooked on the KR hood. I just have to have one that has the flare in the front to match the GT500 bumper. We are all waiting for Amy to post pics of this new hood that is similar to the KR hood.

Cool, if I didn't have the Cali Dream, I would think about this... maybe I will anyways, depending on how close to the KR it is.

Hello Amy,

i've been in touch with Bud about this hood.. as it turned out Ted is no longer working with you.
What are the chances of me having the SS hood before the end of June?
i can arrange to have the hood shipped straight to me in Dubai, or to relatives in Chicago and they'll take care of the rest.

i just need some photos... please lemme know
louie@iihs.net Thanks! (yes i am that desperate!)

Not to hijack this thread, Amy, but when does Shelby plan on releasing the billet grille complete with all necessary components so that one does not have to modify their stock grille?

The hood will be available very soon, tooling is done, molds are made, I have seen it yesterday on our Super Snake and I have to say it is hot! The team did a great job, it is like the KR, but has a touch of the 68KR hood as well. I don't think you will be disappointed.

On the grille, we appproved the frame and have started production, I will have a better date after Tulsa

Good news. Many of the GT500 Owners I know are contemplating the hood as well. I would consider it for not just the appearance and ram air function, but also in preservation of the Original Hood.

But get Louie his first though.
