I believe the front fascias are the same for the GT500 and GT500KR, aren't they. The only difference in the front is the grills, upper grill having the new KR logo and the lower grill having the brake ducts. But other then that they are the same, Right?

GT500 and GT500KR fascias are exactly the same. The upper grille is the same too, just a different emblem. The lower grille is the Shelby brake duct kit (same shape but with the holes)

I think he was talking about the regular GT. The GT front fascia will not fit any hood that fits a GT500 (although a GT hood will work with the GT500 fascia).

Guys, the KR hood and the supersnake hood are almost the same. The super snake Hood has more of the 68 look and features. The Super Snake Hood will be available separately as an aftermarket item in fiberglass to keep the cost down. Hope this helps.

If you read what I said above " the KR style hood will be available. This is the SS hood, both are functional as well. The KR hood will remain CF.

Amy

Amy,
So the exact same GT500KR hood that we've seen in the autoshow will be available mid june?
that's Carbon Fiber right? does it require hood pins too?

i'm in for one of these.. no matter what it costs, As Soon As Possible!!
please put me down for one, i'm willing to make an upfront payment if that's what it would take to get me one soon

ask Ted or Dave about Louie in Dubai.. they probably remember me and my last order..

Amy that's great news, especially because I plan on being that the show in June. Are you bringing the KR or perhaps a Super Snake with you to the show?

Hi Louie, I hope to have these by June, They are CLOSE to the KR, these are slightly different, more like the 68. They are fiberglass and the KR hoods are carbonfiber

Well that's a bummer!!
exactly how CLOSE will it be?
i have the GT500 front fascia and would love to have the KR hood as that'd match the lines perfectly.

there are alternatives like the Trufiber GT-S Ram Air but these are made for the GT fascia and i think they don't even come close to the perfection of the KR hood

I'm going to have to see this other hood before I get excited. I'm also not sure just how much more like a '68 it can look. What exactly will be changed? Will it fit the GT500 fascia or the stock one?

Amy if you could post a pic of this different hood I'm sure you'd have buyers lining up around the block.

The front of the hood is the same, the 68 hood has the indentation at the rear of the hood. The SS hood has that indentation.the lovers are also slightly different. The hoods are not sugnificantly different, the one for sale is fiberglass as well. I will try to get a photo of it.

I'm actually kinda hoping that the Shelby GT hood becomes available. I saw the in public at the local Ford dealership, and the hood looks nice in person.

i'm pretty bummed about this whole thing, especially after i got my hopes up and spread the news about getting a Carbon Fiber KR hood.
i loved the KR hood being Carbon Fiber, loved the design and the hood pins it came with..

not sure how the other hood will look, but being a perfectionist i know it will look nothing like the KR hood to me (although everyone keeps saying it's so similar.. well it's obviously a different hood anyway!)
