waves in roof
waves in roof
Hopefully this is the right forum for this question. But has anyone had any issues with their roof. Right above the driver seat and right where the rear glass and the roof meet I have a few waves in the sheet metal of the roof (the outside of the car). I have never had anything on the roof of my car and no one has ever sat or stood on my car. I noticed the one close to the rear window a while back, but it actually seems like it has gotten worse and the one above the driver seat seems to have just appeared out of nowhere and it too seems to have gotten larger since I first noticed it. Can the sheet metal warp? There are no scratches or damage to the paint from something being on the roof, would Ford take care of this? or are they going to blame it on me? Anyone had an issue like this before. Any advise will be greatly appreciated. Also, I got my car in Feb. 07 and it has never been in any accidents.
Thanks
Chris

That's weird.
When a unit body car such as ours gets in an accident it's not unusual for energy (and a dent) to 'travel' to another location other than the impact site.
What's to say it wasn't damaged in a parking lot when you weren't there? Still sounds like an odd spot regardless. Take it to a good body shop and see what they say.

Never heard of that before. Definitely not normal, and if it is getting worse, then it sounds structional to me. Maybe the roof beam connected to the c or y piller was bent during assembly. Take it back to the dealer.
