There was a post about a small hole for the cars with no shaker 1000 that needed a plug not long ago.

Just take it in to the dealer before it gets too wet and does damage to the carpet padding

This is a problem, and it has affected 07 vehicles as well.

If you have a SN197, do yourself a favor. After a drive in the rain; or a rainy day - pull the front passenger side access panel [small plastic panel] and with your fingers - probe down below the carpet to the mat beneath. If you have a leak, you will feel moisture here.

A TSB is in the works; but frankly up until a couple of days prior to Christmas, Ford was denying the problem [although they had previously swapped out entire vehicles because of leak problems].

The source of the leak(s) is various; and not isolated to one thing. Sh*t design / manufacturing would be a good way to summary it. Some have said that the leak(s) cannot be properly diagonosed and fixed without removing the right front fender of the vehicle.

I do not have this problem although many suspect that it is far more widespread than owners really know. I am simply following it closely because I have $35K sunk into a loaded 07 vert [that fortunately is a warm weather driver].

Kudos to all owners and forum members who have b*tched to Ford about this. If it were not for them, Ford would still be in a state of denial.

Not for nothing maybe this should become a sticky (at least until it's fixed), I know most TSB oriented problems can be annoying but this is one of the more serious ones. Sure hope the 07 I ordered does not have this problem (my 06 sure didn't).

It should be part of the Warranty sub-forum we were supposed to get back. See here http://forums.bradbarnett.net/showthread.php?t=54533

You should probably post there to let the mods know we still want that; I did.

I posted there also. I haven't noticed any moisture in my passenger footwell carpet but, after several days of rain here, I have noticed a slightly musty smell inside the car. I will investigate more thoroughly when I get the chance.

Like others have said you need to remove the kick plate on the passengers side lift up the carpeting and check the foam underneath also check your fire wall foam. I am keeping an eye on this as well as I have an 07 on order, hopefully the TSB will be issued soon, I will be asking the service department at the dealer to look at my car for the TSB when it comes in.
