Warranty or TSB for rail dust?

Warranty or TSB for rail dust?
We ordered our 08 GT/CS vert in September of 07 and it came in in November 07. It's the performance white. Hot car!! The more I clean it, the more of these "rust spots/rail dust" I see on the car. I also have standing water on the sill of the door. I cannot find any leaks anywhere. Not sure how the water gets in to sit on the driver side sill. The car has 4000 miles on it. Should I get the dealer to take care of this rail dust stuff? I just don't see why I should have to work my tail off with a clay bar on the car when it is this new. I don't know what they will say about the water issue. Any suggestions are much appreciated. Thanks.

If you feel like it, pull your door panel and check to see that the weathershield is sealed all the way around. If it isn't, water will drain down onto your sill.
There is a TSB for the rail dust. Mine has had it for almost 3 years. It drives me crazy to see it too. Good luck!

I had a white SN95 that had the rail dust problem. I used a clay bar for the first time and it removed all of the spots. The spots were quite stubborn, but you just have to keep working it until they disappear. I've been a big clay bar fan since.

It is covered by the Ford original warranty. I brought mine back to the dealer within one week of taking delivery in Feb 2005, and they did the clay bar and waxed it. It came back the way it should have been delivered to me in the first place.
Dealers should never deliver a new car in that condition, IMO.

The "Dealer Prep" most dealers claim they perform, rarely includes the clay bar process.
The average auto buyer does not notice the "rail dust", so they don't bother.
Now for us "car guys/gals" that's the first thing we notice and mention it before you take delivery of the vehicle. I also had rail dust when I picked my vehicle up, even though I told the dealer I would be inspecting it thoroughly before taking delivery.
Dealers just don't care.
