Front marker lamp lens melted!!

Today I had my recently purchased 2007 Mustang out in the driveway and my father noticed that the marker lamp lens on the driver's side was melted. In the attached picture, it's the faded amber toward the wheel opening. We uninstalled the bulb to ensure that it was the correct size and it was. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Would this be covered by the warranty? It also started to melt the edge of the bumper cover surrounding the lens. Thanks!!

That is odd, I wonder if maybe the bulb wasn't pushed in all the way, causing some arcing/surging, or if it's not a wiring problem.

Let us know and good luck w/ a fix.

I'll think I'll call the dealership this morning and see what they say. I'll update when I find out more. Also, is there a way of checking to see if my car is up to date with any recalls issued for Mustangs? I assume the dealer would know?

I went to the dealership yesterday, and they replaced the lens assembly and bulb under warranty! I didn't get a reason for why it happened, but they said they would mail me some paperwork and hopefully it includes an explanation. They also performed a recall service on the passenger airbag.

One more quick question, the previous owners had the extended warranty and I would like to transfer it. The dealer said that the original owner needs to call them and fill out some paperwork and then they would get a pro-rated refund of the remaining amount. Does this sound right? Will it really only cost me $50 to transfer it? Thanks again
