Guess What the Dealer Did Today?

The rear emblem on my '07 GT/CS had the paint peeling off so the dealer said it is under warranty, after I showed the car to them and they ordered a new one. Well they called and said the new emblem was in and to drop the car off. I made sure tell them 3 times to make sure it is the CS logo emblem and they said of course. Well guess what??? When I picked the car up it had a new emblem on it. A GT EMBLEM!!!! Well I was pissed and they said I guess the mechanic did not read the ticket because it was typed & hand written to make sure it was the exact replacement. Hopefully they are better mechanics the readers. So another CS emblem is on order. The Service Manager did call back to apologize and said he would make sure they had the right emblem prior to me going back out.
Also the shift **** rotates so they said they need to order a new one. I thought it could be tightened but they said it needs replacement. Hopefully they don't screw that up as well.

Just noticed today the black paint coming off of my emblem. Is this a widespread problem. I'm gonna take it in and see if I can get the part and then leave it off. I'm thinking what else might look good back there.

From what I have seen & read it does happen to some of the emblems. I know I have seen other posts on this subject. Good Luck. Let us know what you find.

The "Made in China" thing seems to becoming quite a problrm - and not just ith our cars. My company is increasingly having assemblies and sub-assemblies made their and in our own plant, and the stuff we get back from China is WAY subpar. I hope this trend reverses itself in this country. It is ridiculous.

A buddy of mine is the GM at a BMW dealer and they have the same issue with peeling. he said it is hard to make the decal stick to the shiney chrome.

If it was made in China , the paint would have lead in it -- a totally new re-call . But it might stick to the chrome better if it had lead in it . Now if we could just keep the kids from eating the paint chips ----.

It is finally fixed!! The new CORRECT emblem is back & looks as good as new. They also replaced the shift **** as it was loose - it seems the **** is plastic on the inside and it threads onto a metal shifter - ya think it would be metal to metal but nope Ford saved another .02 cents by using plastic.....Anyways I am just happy it is back to normal.

Just keep the emblem out of your mouth and nobody will need a recall

Most manufacturers have been using plastic for decades.
I still have the **** from my '72 Toyota Celica. It has plastic.
