Electral Problem

So I was autocrossing last weekend and after a run I went to undo my hood pins and sparks shot up at me. Scared the hell out of me. I got some pliers and got them open. The sparks shot up even further when I popped the hood. I went over some of the wiring I didn't see anything so I closed the hood and ran my last couple runs and went home. When I got home I undid the hood pins and nothing. No sparks, everything seems fine. I assume during my last runs something moved in there. Any ideas where to start looking?

Now only if I could spell electrical correctly...

I found the problem. My Optima battery seems to be taller than the stock one. The positive terminal rubbed through the rubber cover and was touching the hood. I'll figure out some way to fix it.
