Crush washers for brake calipers on 07 GT

While doing a bit of maintenance before putting on new rims (replacing wheel studs after a couple broke, new brake pads and discs, etc) I decided I also wanted to paint my calipers. I noticed the brake fluid was dirty, so I figured I was in for a full flush and bleed anyways, so I just took the calipers off completely to make painting easier. I called the dealership to order new crush washers but was told the only way they could replace them was with new calipers, and they could not sell them individually. That wasn't a problem with my Aviator when I had to replace those, so do I not need new crush washers, or is this a case where I'm going to have to match them up with 3rd party replacements?

Also, while trying to remove a washer to take to a hardware store to match up the size, I found that the washers will not go past the threads of the bolt. Is this normal? I get that the purpose of the washer is to be malleable and form to the pattern around the connection for the caliper and hose, but again this wasn't the case with my Aviator, and it is throwing me off.

Thanks

I'm pretty sure you can get those crush washers at an auto parts place; and you might need to unscrew the old one off

Correct, you can get replacements for them. Also you do have to screw them off in certain situations but be careful to not mess up the threads.
