Creaking front shock...
Creaking front shock...
My drivers side front shock (strut?) creaks when going over speed bumps/large bumps. i'll be taking it to the dealer, but thought I'd ask if anyone has had this problem and if so, how was it fixed?
TIA
TIA
I've got a creaking & popping noise, but it's coming from the REAR (sounds like passenger side rear). no TSB for rear I think.
Let me know how it goes at the dealer...if I go, I'll post results.

I had that in my 05 about, I'll say six months ago, took it to the dealer and they fixed it. I forget exactly what part it was that they replaced, but I will ask tonight when I take my car out for another warranty issue. I'll get back to you.

My dealer replaced the front left lower control arm two weeks ago with a new design part per direction from Ford engineering but it didn't solve the problem. They then told the dealer to check and tighten a few other bolts and braces under the car (I have a vert) but before I had a chance to bring the car in, the dealer called back and said that there's another revised lower control arm due out soon that should solve the problem for good. I haven't seen a TSB on it and I'm not sure that one even exists, but he dealer seems to think that Ford knows what to do this time.
I just bought an '07 GT Convertible 5-speed and I notice creaking sounds coming from around the rear quarter panels as I shift gears, even from a standstill. To me it doesn't sound like the suspension, it sounds like body panels creaking (scary). When the car is at rest and I push and pull on the body to move the suspension parts I do NOT hear any creaking, nor do I hear any noise going over bumps. It is only when the car is shifting or accelerating, so it must be related to the body twisting.
Does anyone have a convertible and notice this? I hear it whether the top is up or down.
I can't say I remember hearing this when I drove it off the lot, but about 200 miles later I started to notice. Perhaps I was just too excited to notice at first.
Does anyone think this sounds like a suspension issue? I guess I can always take it in and see what they say. Sucks that this is still an issue on a 2007. Makes the car sound old and poorly constructed. And I paid full price, over $35k.
