Chirp with RPM
I was wondering if anyone has had a similar issue. I have a 2006 v6 and once i rev it up above 1500 i get a repetitive double chirp every second or so. The time between double chirps decreases when i raise the rpm, . Whether or not the car is moving doesn't affect it. Using the clutch also doesn't seem to do anything. The sound seems like its coming from the transmission, but the center console is the least sound insulated part of the car, so it could be anywhere. Its always been a faint chirp but today it seemed to be a lot louder, it also happened to be raining, but i don't know if that would affect this.
Im gonna kind of list other issues here because they might correlate
water gets kicked up in the passenger side fuse box and sometimes makes a screech noise for half a second, i'm working on sealing this right now. The only reason i can see this being related is because of the rain
Im planning on swapping the engine and transmission so if its anything major it shouldn't be too big of a deal, but id like to know if it could be something else.

The compressor turns on and off like every 5-10 seconds. The double squeak is like every second at 1500 and like 4 times per second at higher rpms. I've noticed there is some very slight wobble in the serpentine belt. Now that I think about there are other issues that could be belt related. Driving through puddles causes a screech from the dash (I thought it was an electrical thing but apparently the belt can slip and screetch)and one time I noticed the double chirp after it started raining. A bad pulley could make sense and weather conditions are affecting how apparent it is. I also could have put too much stress on the tensioner because it's so ****ing difficult to move.
pick up a stethoscope from autozone and poke around with that at idle. If you cant find it ask someone to work the go pedal for you while you look some more. Watch yer fingers

I had an exhaust leak from a cracked seam on the catalytic converter that behaved kinda like that. Might not hurt to stick your phone under the hood and under the car to see where it's the loudest.
