I will be installing sequential tail lights and DRL module soon which will require disconnecting the battery on my 06 GT. I recall from past experience with an F150, the computer needs time to reset itself after power is restored. Has any one here noticed any unusual engine behavior after restoring power to a Mustang?

I've disconnected the batter probably about 10 times, no problems, etc.

Page 199 of the owners manual has a procedure for allowing the car to relearn it's idle and fuel trim strategy for optimum drivability and performance after disconnecting the battery.

Or page 207 for an ’06 owners manual.

I was also told that after the car break-in period it's always good to do this and while it's re-learning you can now drive it more agressively and the computer will adjust to this new learning style.

Not tested and it may be an Urban Legend but doesn't hurt trying it !
