Battery disconnect cause tire pressure monitor failure?
Was installing the Ford GT start button, after install, re-connected battery and now I get the infamous Tire Pressure Monitor Failure message. Could disconnecting the battery cause this????
Sure did, although it didn't even take a full mile at about 30 MPH. AFter my trip, I shut her down, then wnet back out about an hour later and started it up again (wanted to push the button once more too) just to be sure and no messages

I see exactly where your coming from and if you end up changing wheels then it seems that TPS isn't really worth having anyhow !

IMO it's not worth having, adds to the cost of changing wheels. I am old and have been driving a long time. Maybe I have been lucky but so far no need for TPMS.

... I have a few years to go to reach that stage.

I do think it's a great "option" that should have been set up with a "disable / enable" feature
to be set as the owner desired. Our Mustang and our FX4 both have it.

After replacing the battery for the first time in my 2009 CS, the tire pressure monitor system fault display came up. With a quick google search I found the easy solution (which is just to drive it a little) from The Mustang Source. I know this is an old thread, however, any time I google information on my Mustang, this site comes up every time. I love it!! Cheers to all that post solutions to any questions folks have with their Mustangs.
