I would be game to try one of these, however I do not have the issue of a leaking MC and don't want to start either.

I have a billet cap over my stock cap. I solved the leaking problem by putting a piece of teflon tape around the neck and then screwing the cap back on. Its been that way for almost a year now with no leakage.

The solution is to lower the fluid level to the correct level which is in between the max and min marks. See your owners manual. I did it and no more leaks. Ford is overfilling the resevoir.

I was thinking the same thing when this cap came out since the factory one seems so flimsy and it doesnt feels like it makes a good seal when you lock it in. So I took a chance and bought one, I gotta say it feels a lot better than the factory one when you lock it on, but I still have a leak but not as much. I also tried the lower fliud level fix , still leaks. So I'm gonna guess it might be a defect in the molding process on the top of the neck of the resivoir

I added one of those rubber washers in the cap [above the factory seal] but the stupid thing still oozes. I didn't take any fluid out though, even though I did see those posts regarding the cylinder being overfilled.

Just thought I'd give you guys and update,I got sick and tired of constantly checking every 2 days to wipe off the brake fluid off the top of my brake fliud resivoir. So I finally made an appointment with my dealer and dropped it off, they thought it was a bad cap , but I told them the cap was replaced back in Oct. of '06and it still leaks. So they decided to go ahead and order a new resivoir and a new cap. When I got it back,I went to see how tight the new parts seal and there is a definitely a much more positive feel when you lock it down now compared to the loose fitting originals. It's been almost a week now and I'm happy to say that I havent had to clean it once yet. Wish I did this before I bought the billet cap

Want to sell your billet cap if you are not using it?

Update

Almost 2 weeks and not a drop has yet to be spilled. I've been checking it everyday and I've also been wiping it with a clean paper towel around the filler cap , along the seam of the resivoir and also around and under the master cylinder, totally dry Looks like Ford has gotten this issue taken care of 05Blackbeauty , I'm gonna hold on to the billet cap for now, just in case I might decide to buy the other caps that go with it
