I was on my way home from Roanoke, Va. yesterday when I heard a big time Rattle under the car just behind the seats.

This worried me a lot since I was about 1/2 way home. I had stopped to get some gas so I looked under the car to see if anything was hanging down. I didn't see anything.

Other than the rattle the car ran and felt fine so I decided to try and make it home. I had called someone to have them stand by just in case.

By the time I got home it was raining and the rattle was still there. I waited until this morning to check it out. I jacked up the car and grabbed the exhaust and gave it a good shake. Sure enough it rattled a lot. Then I noticed a black tubular support just hanging there. Im not sure what it does so maybe one of ya'll can tell me. It is located just to the rear of the H-Pipe. It attaches to the floor pan and goes over the exhaust pipes to attach to the floor pan on the otherside.

Easy fix, just get 2 nuts and locking washers and the rattle is gone. Below are pics of what it looked like before I fixed it.

Tony,
Glad it was a small issue with your Mustang. I am going to look under mine when I get home tonight.
Thanks for the tip!
