[WANTED] Hood for 85GT

I need a second factory hood so I can cut some air holes in it and add my newly aquired scoop (thanks ken) to it. I prefer to get something local that I can pick-up. Shipping a metal hood is just not cost effective.

I just cant bare to cut up my perfectly good original hood. After cleaning up the shop this past weekend, I have all sorts of room for extra parts.

Asa, I know you said 84-85. I just wanted to mention, and Anthony probably already knows, that 83-86 are the same.

Anthony, did you need a pair of tires for your rims? If so, email me.

What is the location of bethel junkyard? Sounds like a good place to start. I didnt know that the 83's were the same but I am making a mental note.

Yep.

With Foxes (exc-SVO), it's 79-82, 83-86, 87-93. The 83 and early 84 cars are pretty much exactly the same. Most (not all) 83's had the hood scoop that the 82 had, only turned around.

Mid-84 is when production changes came into play (quad shocks, rounded rear spoiler) that reflect the GT350 model that came out mid-year.

im not too great at giving directions but im gonna try.

Hwy 72 to east limestone road

Then go all the way down east limestone road until you reach a 4 way stop and there is a gas station and an iron works shop

Go through the intersection take that road all the way down until you see an animal shelter on your left and go to the stop sign

Make a right onto what ever road that is and tak it until you see a chevron i believe and make a left, then it should be a little ways down that road on you left.

Im sorry before hand if you get lost.

Well I found the junkyard but I dont think I even saw half of it. That place was huge! If you are looking for 80's Camaro parts then thats the place for sure. I saw a million camaros but only one 79 stang and one early 80's capri. Neither had a good that would fit mine so I left empty handed. If there are more foxes I just didnt get to them. It started pouring down rain so I had to cut the search off early.

If you know where these foxes are in the yard, maybe you can draw me a treasure map with an X. hahahaa

Anthony, i got some bad news. I finally got in touch with my buddy at the junk yard, and they crushed 1/2 of the cars in the yard, and well the 84 gt was one of them and the next closest year they had was a 79 which was also crushed into a little box.

Thanks for taking the time to check things out... I will continue my search here locally. It seems 98% of all Mustang produced between 1983-86 have all ended up in Georgia. If the Baileyton Salvage Yard still exists, that will be my best chance I think.
