Ok i was doing like 110 and then all of a suddenit started violently shaking, i took it out of gear and it did not change, reved the motor no change

when the car got back to about 70 the vibration stopped , then i sped up and had no vibration,

best i could explain is it felt like something was coming apart,

there was also a loud humming noise

i thought i lost a harmonic balancer, but it was still there,

i guess i could have a seperated tire, but dont know

i am just wondering what components could be sparatic,

when i dropped it out of gear rpm's dropped to 700 and was still vibrating, so that was probobally not it,

with the trans could it be something inside a t5 not balanaced right or coming loose?

i am clueless in rear ends , 8" with a mini spool, could something be wrong in there?

could it be something with too much play in the drive shaft, or the angle of the drive shaft ect?

i am just looking for places to look into

it was funny though because i did beat the hell out of the car i was racing, even slowing down to 70 he didnt catch me!

Yeah, a lot of things that you mentioned. Once mass is moving that quickly, kinetic energy will multiply. 110MPH will find issues that are not normally there.

Tell me, did you ever fix your vibration you posted about before?

yes. that was the trans hitting the trans tunnel. it was binding, i had to cut a small section out of the trans tunnel to clear the shifter thingy

Was the steering wheel shaking? Front ends on those cars aren't the best design, and are dangerous when worn out.

I've been 110 in a vintage Mustang. It's scary. Car wants to lift.

definatly not the front end, it was a whole car feeling, think turbulence on a plane.

Had a problem like this on my old Ranger.
Threw a wheel weight at 65mph.
Thought it was going to shake apart before I got the speed down.

I guess you don't have to wonder about this anymore. Just tell the new owner to keep it under 108.
