Heck, that would be fine.
Beverage of your choice, then.
Let me know.

Couldn't find any banana peels.
I'll leave it to you as to whether it was for the capacitor or smokin'.

*things for you to do*

Call Sherry (I'll PM you the number) and borrow:

1 timing light (in black box probably in passenger compt of racecar)
1 remote starter (in bottom drawer of big toolbox)

Leave one beer in my garage fridge.

Fix car.

Return tools.

Oh and your ring compressor is hanging on the pegboard above the workbench. Thanks for that.

Got the message too late. But that's okay. Not needing it in the next few days. :-)

Now I need to find/buy/borrow a battery charger. Of course.

Don't know what a 58 series is. Does that mean the posts on top? That is what I have.

I was thinking of just stopping by Walmart and buying a cheap one, then taking it home and letting it charge while I go back to work for the afternoon. I am free after 4:30. Perhaps earlier.

I'm leaning towards the coil. We'll talk as to why later.

I owe Mark D. one beer.
Bad coil.

Was getting enough spark to light a test light. Not enough to light the timing light. Funny thing is that the coil tested out okay according to resistance specifications with both the primary and secondary.

All better now.

Timing light sometimes needs a smack to get it to light, in case you're still troubleshooting.

Mark S. - Nope. I'm good. Thanks for the offer.

Mark D. - Nope, troubleshooting was finished when I posted last. Yeah, I noticed that when I would have the power switch on and connect the lead, the light would flash for a second. Yet, even when the car tried to start, there was no flash of the timing light.

I had a couple of old (good) coils laying around. Hooked one up for a second and when I turned the car over for a second, it tried to catch and run. So I went up and bought a new one, installed it, and the car fired right up and ran great. That is how I know it is the coil.

In retrospect (hindsight is 20/20), that explains why the car was losing power and I could feel it cutting out most of the time and even dying for no reason. I was thinking it was needing a tuneup or I had an electrical wiring issue. All of my wiring still looks good..

Now to clean it up for tomorrow.
