Or, if ya let me know, I work at Bradford Drive yet go to the Arsenal (NASA) all the time. I can drop it off one day.

Heck, you were a great help to testing out how well my dog hates strangers.

Well, If you do come onto the Arsenal I'm about 2 minutes out of your way. If you come in gate 9, take an immediate right onto Lookout road. Follow it for about 1/4 of a mile. My Building is 2592. (1st bldg on the Right) You can just drop it off inside the office to one the cadre. Anybody there will make sure that I get it.

Hardest part I had was getting the pinion shaft in. I had to work and work, and even then I had to hammer on it. Pulled out just a little after 12 and when I turned out of the driveway, it sounded like I broke the rear. I was expecting this, but it still made my heart pump.
I'm not tracking. What pinion shaft are you talking about? What made this noise? Why was it okay?

The pinion shaft is the first thing that is taken out. It has the small screw that holds it in place inside the diff. It is the cylindrical rod that must be taken out to push the axles inboard to take out the c-clips. Look at #6 and especially #7 from the below page and it will jog your memory.

The noise is from the new frictions due to the rebuild of the traklok, even though I soaked them. One guy said he had soaked them for 15 mionutes and it sounded terrible. He tried an hour and it was not so bad. It is okay because it is the same noise as if someone put in oil yet did not put in friction modifier. It pops really loud. Yet, since the rear parts were new and everything was very tight, it popped LOUD. *chuckles*

It sounds sweet! Or, should I say, it does not sound at all? We'll see in 500 miles. I am still surprised (knock on wood) that I have not had to go back to fix something. I didn't even need to adjust the clutch cable.

You should have "Mickey" by now.

After 150 miles, the rear is quiet. No more popping or moaning when I turn sharply. The tranny is still a bit "notchy" when I shift. I used Mobil 1 synthetic ATF and heard that several folks have felt this. I am thinking of switching over to Redline since it is recommended by Hanlon.

As expected, the engine is staying in a higher RPM range. The drivetrain feels much more snug from power to coast without all of the clunking. I am getting more confident with shifting each day.

A great learning experience. I now have the know-how and tools to rebuild T5s. Woot!

Okay, I passed 500 miles and everything sounds good still. The tranny is shifting fine. Definitely no more one-wheel peel.

The engine is living at a higher RPM now. And it is shot. So, onto another thread about the engine.
