Bought another 2000
Misc body pics. Notice I am working on the car in my drive in front of my cooled shop. I have a fan blowing cool air under the car when I am working. Cars and screen printing don't mix well in the same shop. I have a bunch of shirts to print this weekend. Have to move all the car parts out before I can get back at printing.

Progress on the cleaning. The girls removed all the seats and cleaned the seats and carpet. My little one cleaned the glass.
Notice the screw in the door switch panel. Both sides had broken clips and the previous owner just put a screw in it. Not too terrible but the screws are not in the same place side to side.
I bought a pair of black door panels and dash trim from the same guy I got the rearend from. I am going to put them in my car and take out the silver painted trim pieces. Will get some light gray SEM vinyl spray in the right color and repaint my old door switch panels for this car.

More photos to come. It is on 4 wheels and drives pretty good. I think I am going to go ahead and do the front brakes just for peace of mind. Pulling to rail up one day this week then finish assembly. Worked yesterday wet sanding and buffing the headlights. Interior is back in and front sheet metal lined up.
Once we started cleaning it up the color is off. The problem comes from the fact that the manufacturer has "alternative" formulas. When the paint was mixed we went with the first (most common) formula. It is way too white. The door looks a lot more yellow. Funny thing is the left rear quarter has been fixed before as well and if you look at that side of the car the quarter is yellow and the car looks whiter. Looks like we will do an all over paint job later this year. Will get everything working right and get my daughter used to driving it first.

Down to the little things. I have all of the brake parts in hand. Frame rail has been pulled up and bumper installed. I was missing the retainer clips for the headlights and had to make a visit to WAF to get a pair. Man they are proud of them. $9 each for a metal clip. Checked at TeamFordParts.com after the fact and they were around $3.75 each plus shipping. I could have saved close to $10 but I would have had to wait on them. Headlights are ready to go in and need to install all of the cowling above the bumper and grill.
I put the stock wheels of my silver car on the white one since three of the four were bent or broke. Now I see that one of them is bent. Have to go have a tire moved over. Will run some of the tread off of these before I install the '06 tires and wheels. Will have to change the speedo gear when I install them.
Standing behind the car yesterday I noticed that when the car had been hit on the left rear before they replaced the taillight with an '03/'04 tinted one. I am moving the clear lights from my car over and installing my stock lights back in the silver one. I have one spare '99-02 and one '03-'04 taillight now.

I'm just good!
I spent about an hour total adjusting. The fender to the door is the bear. These fenders are so flexible getting it to the right place is no big deal. The problem is everything relies on the two bolts in the door jamb. You have to have someone hold the fender where you want it, tighten it, close the door and check it ... repeat.
I used the Mequires kit on the headlights. It says no sanding required but I sanded with 320 and removed the cracking UV coating. Then I sanded with 600 and 1000 before I buffed with the Mequires. I should have taken a before picture of the lights. They looked like 80 grit sand paper.

She's on her own!
My daughter drove off in the Mustang by herself today. She has been driving the mini van to dance team practice all Summer. Today she got to show off the white pony! A few little tidbits to finish up but all things considered I am happy with the results (and the $$ saved). Now to start looking for a 2005 or 2006 for me!
