Next Up...Bullitt.
He loves his new car, but a last minute announcement from Ford that the Bullitt will get 375+ HP will p!ss him off a bit.
But hey, life's about choices, and he made his.
We all just have to wait and see. I wonder how long they will be produce it, 1 year or 2. Hopefully if it is 2 we won't get hit so hard in the pocket with all the dealer mark ups.
I do think if FORD keeps those mark ups, up, it is going to force others to look at other options like Camaro and Challenger which are right around the corner. At least if you pay 45K for a car you will know that's what it is actually worth and not what they want to screw you for.
Cross your fingers people.......

If theres people who want that car then there will be a mark up............There will deffientely be a mark up the first year of the Camaro and Challenger......I guarantee it.

I don't think they'll wait until the SF show; that only gives about three weeks of lead time between the intro and production. I think they'd want to take pre-orders long before then.
I guess the point that I was trying to make is that there will be more choices for people to pick from, thus forcing the companies to get more inventive with the way they are selling these cars.
As someone who would love to have both the Bullitt and the Challenger, it's depressing to me to think about the ADMs that are going to be added to these cars. Most of us can't play the old car game any more, since musclecars can command almost six figures for most anything these days. And now the new car game is going to the rich as well. At least it is if you want an SE like the Bullitt or a car in it's first production year like the Challenger. The car business isn't what it used to be.
That's not really true. The way horsepower was calculated was changed for the 2001 model year. With the new ratings, the standard Mustang made less than 260 horsepower, but the engine was grandfathered in and didn't have to be retested. The Bullitt had a new engine--or at least a small variation on the existing one--and had to be retested. It made 265 by the new rankings, which put it at about 15 horsepower more than the standard GT.
I thought they were supposed to measure HP not calculate it.
Last minute I don't think Ford has announced anything yet so you have a few more

That's what the public saw
I'm just curious as to what changed if anything on this 2008 Bullitt, or is it more 'all hype'
The last real SE in my mind was the Mach1
We suspect you are referring to the new Shelby GT500 being a limited edition. We build and sell over 150,000 Mustangs a year and it continues to be one of Ford's biggest success stories. A large part of the success can be attributed to the development of low-volume, themed vehicles which address specific consumer needs. Shelby GT500 represents a historic relationship and the ultimate in pure, unbridled muscle – a special edition for which demand far outweighs supply. This is one small, but important step in delivering bold, innovative products which delight our Ford target customer.
Does it mean the SVT Cobra will return? Maybe having those 6 letters removed will put it a little closer to the affordable side.
Plus, that was Boomer's opinion (and mine as well, but, for the reason I stated above).
Don't know what the total # of Mach 1 production vs. the yet-to-be-determined actual production #'s of the GT500 car will be. Only time and the marketplace will tell, I guess. The KR on the other hand, easily qualifies in both price and production #'s.

No Dark Highland Green, no care!
