Bullitt Poll: How Did Ford Do?
Something to think about here, saying the Fox, SN-95 and Mustang II's aren't true Mustangs...at least they were still being made. Ford could have done away with them entirely like GM did with the Camaro/Firebird. Even Nissan dropped the Z car for a while. The Mustang at least has stayed in production all these years and kept the interest alive. So at least there was a Mustang to be had every year for the past 43 years!
I'm not saying they weren't true Mustangs. I'm just saying they never did anything for me and I never had any interest in owning one. I was also always a fastback man, the coupe's never really caught my eye- but oddly enough I don't mind the coupe's from 71-73. 71-73 seems to be viewed kind of like the "jump the shark" moment for the early Mustang.
Bigger and heavier. But despite that they did have some nice models. Like the Mach 1 in Diamonds are Forever that Hollywood North GT mentioned.
But for me personally - after speculating and discussing and dissecting this car for the past two years - I am not the least bit regretting my choice to instead purchase a GT...not by a long shot.
Those who are dissatisfied maintain a healthy lead over those who think Ford "hit the bulls eye." I suspect this trend will continue.
