Agreed. Unfortunately some people are too dense to understand it. People also don't understand that a special edition car will always be more desirable than simply a standard GT that some shadetree mechanic decided to modify. Sure you can "make" a car that's beyond what the Bullitt is capable of, but history will remember it as simply being a car someone dinked with. Look at the current market of vintage Mustangs. Real, factory GTs are always desirable over a car that someone simply added the GT options to. The '68 California Special was a car that didn't necessarily see a great deal of love in its day, but is now considered one of the most desirable non-Shelby Mustangs out there.

As far as the Bullitt looking like a V6, well newsflash folks, the visual differences between a V6 and a GT aren't that great to begin with. I'll always prefer the GT over a V6 (no offense), but I'm not deluding myself in thinking the typical GT looks significantly different than its 6 cylindered counterpart despite the foglights and silly looking scoops and spoilers. Unless you're a Mustang aficionado and know what to look for, most people don't even notice the difference. The Bullitt is meant to be underestimated and a car that doesn't draw attention to itself. If people think its a V6, then so be it.

Exactly! I actually also have a 68 GT/CS, so I can vouch for that. Sure, mod the GT a ton, but as lot of people I've met are finding out, you won't get much out of them when you go to sell them. Many people would stop me when I had my 05+ v6 and asked if it was a v8. The general public doesn't know or care. It's the story and feeling behind the car. If you want to mod a GT, by all means do it, it's fun, but that is what it will be... a modded GT. The Bullitt will always be known as the Bullitt (01 or 08 ).

I don't need your approval, I don't trash TMS, or degrade its members, and guess what, TMS is where the most valuable BULLITT information has been, is, and where you have been informed and educated thanks to the membership. You are in no position to give me any advice.
What he said.

I'll only add this: Why is it ALWAYS the noobs (less than 200 posts) who come on here full of bluster, throwing their weight around, trying to tell veteran members what they ought to think, or that they ought to shut up and go somewhere else if they're not prepare to drink the Koolaid?

One's post count has little to do with the validity or importance of what someone is saying.

Hollywood-I'm not telling anyone what to do. I've been on this site long enough to know that you and George are the two most negative posters I've encountered. You guys trash almost everything, plus you talk down to all the others who post.

I simply asked- why are you guys on this forum? Not this site, but this forum, the Bullitt forum. Neither of you like the car, neither of you are buying the car. But you keep adding post after post. It really makes no sense?
Hollywood, you should be over in the GT subforum singing the praises of your car.
But instead you're over here bashing the Bullitt.
I suspect you're "green" with envy and that you actually really want one. I think you wish you had held off on buying your GT?
I have the same color GT as you- and I love the car. But I know that it is no Bullitt.

You didn't get the memo? Us noobs need to stay in our places lest the big forum hoobahs get angry. I've heard tale that after 200 posts or so (when our noob-hood expires), our knowledge of Mustangs grows quickly and substantially. Oh, how I long for that wondrous day! Everyone knows that the people who have the highest post count or have been here the longest are the most knowledgable and wisest in the land, and what's more, their opinion is always right! Real world experience be ****ed. Post count and forum tenure is what separates the ignorant Pony boys from the wizened Mustang sages.

Geez...I can't believe you didn't know that.

There, fixed that for you.

Yes, some people just believe they are more important than others, that their opinion is more important and on boards such as this. Any newcomer has to take that opinion as their own. Respect the post count.

I'm beginning to realise Ford completely missed the mark with the '08 Bullitt and no one should buy one. I'm thinking red GT, change the tires and add seat covers. Are you in? Try the koolaide.

As for the V6 talk, on another board someone called people stupid for considering an '08 Bullitt because it's just a V6 with a GT engine.
I guess a GT isn't a V6 with a V8?

Wow, it's a huddle of the green-horns and the tinhorns! All the usual suspects in one place. Imagine that! GROUP HUG!.

The title of this thread is "HOW DID FORD DO?" It seems that those who complain about several of us discussing the Bullitt's shortcomings, are insecure themselves, and not 100% convinced about the car. They then try to convince themselves of the Bullitt's merits by attempting to sway everybody else about the car's merits, justifying their position by looking at the positives and ignoring the negatives.

If you like the Bullitt, then by all means buy one!

Just don't keep trying to convince me and others of how wonderful the car is by continually rubbing our noses in it, or by beatching about us when we deride Ford's less than inspired effort. OUR position is that Ford didn't do as well as many of us had been hoping for the past two years. And if you don't like that, then LUMP it.

Hollywood- You've stated your opinion- you've got nothing more to add- so why don't you just drop it?
You're making yourself look like a a$$- which is probably pretty easy for you to do.
You're here all the time slamming the car in an attempt to convice YOURSELF that you did the right thing and bought an 07GT.
I already own an 05GT- so for me...I'm moving up and getting the Bullitt.

Perhaps you should take your own advice.

Actually, I'm quite comfortable with the way I "look." After all, I'm not the tail trying to wag the dog here.

If I'd needed convincing, I never would have bought an '07 GT to begin with, after patiently gleaning news about the forthcoming Bullitt over the past 24 months - only to learn, sadly, that the car ended up being pretty much what I expected from Ford.

You keep telling everyone that you're "moving up" by getting the new Bullitt.

Beware of buyer's remorse.

Whammer, you can't argue with a TROLL, and high post count or not (second thought that can be a TROLL indicator) Hollywood is coming across as just that.

He doesn't like the new Bullitt or Ford's efforts with it. How dare you tell him you think it's great!! Stop rubbing his nose in it
