Viva La Mustang! Giugiaros Interpret Ford Icon
#42
So if that is an LA show debut, I'm guessing Ford is throwing up a trial balloon on the 2012MY redesign with the new powertrain. I wonder why we have nothing to look forward to in Detroit(Fords home show) other than the MIA Bullitt? I would expect something from them hinting at the reskin 09/MY10.
And is it just me, or does the Gui design just scream REFLEX? Addmittedly adding the rear side glass, the cues and proportions are pretty clear to me.

Last word was there would not be a new Cougar based off the Mustang. But a Lincoln version was still being looked at for 2010 when the Stang gets updated.

Notice apparent lack of passenger door handle, most developmental mules have easy access so test drivers and engineers can crawl all over them! passenger handle seems to be shaved!

I would love to see the Cougar come back, I had some good times in a Cougar!! but Ford just posting 1.5 billion dollar loss! don't hold your breath. The way things are going Toyota may be building the Mustang in 2010!

Better that Toyota build the Mustang in 2010 than GM ?.. I'd even settle for Daimler/Chrysler as a possibility..

Without a clear and distinct product lineup (not just cloned Fords that confuse customers), it's hard to justify the existence of a brand slotted between Ford and Lincoln anymore.

Personally this has me worried...
If this is the future look, then ford may be doing to the mustang what GM did to the corvette (screw it up).The last thing ford needs to do with the mustang is turn it into some generic looking overpriced supercar.Todays retro mustang is the car at it's very root's,but this pic turns it into a get another corvette/gto/toyota supra/hyundia tiberon/cookie cutter.Give me fusion quality (hey it beat camry and accord) better interior materials, more powertrain options etc,and leave the silly designs to the boys over at gm (aka new camero)...
