My source is telling me that there isn't going to be a 2009 Mach1. The next "real" SE will be 2010MY.
This isn't 100% confirmed, but I should have more info very soon.

 

Ford is going to do SOMETHING for the 09 model year. They aren't going to just let Dodge and GM steal all the thunder.

At this point, it seems highly unlikely we will see anything until model year 2010, and even then, I suspect it might not be for in the latter part of calenday year 2009 or early 2010.

I think Ford would be stretched right now working on the refresh - coupe and convertible body panel changes, V6/GT/GT500, updated interior, new wheels, etc. I also think any work on the revised engines - 5.0L, 5.0L with turbos, V6 with turbos - would really need to be done before we see a Mach, Boss, SVO-type car, etc.

I believe what GTJOHN mentions above. There are not that many more months before model year 2010 could potentially start, if what is being predicted about a shorter 2009 run is true.

 

The Mach will make its reapperance in 2011......and it will be in production for at least 2 years.......

Sounds like more than speculation. Are you saying you have inside knowledge that this is the case?

 

That's a heck of a lot more believable than a 2009 Mach 1 is.

Makes me wonder if the rumored 400HP 5.0L engine is the engine for the 2011 Mach 1 as latest rumors are also that the 5.0L will not be ready until 2011.

 

Whenever the 5 litre is launched, I'd have thought it would be as a Boss 302.

But who knows......

 

A 5.0 could be used in more than one SE model.

 

They could've brought the MACH 1 back out in 2005 or 2006 if they really wanted to ... and they should have done so with this body style. The concept below looks sweet, but it won't be anything to get excited over if all they offer is a small V-8 (4.6 or 5.0) or some lame RICER-EURO turbo V-6.

If they don't offer a 5.4 then they can forget it.

 

There's only 1 car with a functional shaker-hood, and that's the late model Mach - there are no present variations. I hope you're not lumping the CS models with their useless fake scoops in that category.

 

Fake scoops make all Mustangs faster, hell I added a Roush scoop because its even faster than a stocker!

My guess? A Mach1 will appear to stimulate sale of the current platform before the redesign happens. So a 11-12 Mach1 is probably realistic and would echo the last 03-04 appearance.

 

My gust bet the Mach1 will come middle of 09 model year just in time for 45th Anniv Mustang show and 40th Anniv of the Mach1 1969-2009.

 

I'd rather see it sooner than later !

Sorry, but there will not be an 09 Mach 1.

The 09 is scheduled for a short production run, end of May 08 through Dec 08 or Jan 09. 2010 Mustangs will start production in Feb or March 09

 

I thought rumor was that 2010 model is due mid 09 model year

Actually I hope its a little later cuz if I buy a GT500 and they come out with a Mach 1 right after I'm gonna be kickin' myself!
