So, order sheets for a Mach would be available, say March '08? Seems a little too close to the Bullitt release. Maybe MY '09?

That would stay more in line with the last Mach1 release I think.

That could work. I'd hope Ford won't make the same mistake as Chevrolet and show the '10 Mustang concept too early. Jan '09 is fine as long the as the production version is shown 12 months later, going on sale very soon afterwards. Having said that, the '10 is unlikely to be too radical a change to the current S197 look. I reckon R&T are probably close with their "facelift" version:

That leaves 2008/9 as prime time for a Mach1 S197 SE

I know there will still be complaints about it, but I do hope Ford does the Mach1 justice. It will be a sweet car if done right, ya know?

It doesnt make sense that they would be looking for the Bond car to show off if the plan is to celebrate the 40th anniversary, besides the obvious mathematical error, they are completely different cars

personally I would much prefer that they do what they did with the 03-04s and go the route of the shaker style of the 69 as it was a much nicer looking car IMO.

It will be the 40th anniv. of the Mach1 1969-2009 that's 40 years. not the bond car, or the Movie.

I understand that its not the anniversary of the movie. Thats why it doesnt make sense that they are looking for the Bond car....completely different cars.

remember back in 2000 ford wanted to do a 01 bullitt 02 mach 1 and a 03 boss. yea thats how fast ford really moves!

Wow, really divided on the '71-'73 look.

I grew up with them. I guess thats why it's my favorite!

It would be nice to see another design, as far as the back and roof line, etc... but I doubt ford would radify a mustang GT's roof line to be a se that is only 3-4k more

My lord... think of the huge blindspot you'd have! haha. I do like the mature design, though. As stated earlier by someone else, I'd like something other than a shaker hood. The fascias and sides could be replicated and even the rear middle panel on the decklid, but the roofline won't change. I'm anticipating that car, though.

That's what I would want. The ram air hood would look pretty good. Geez, what do you know?? It's not like you own a Mach1 or something. lol. (total joking).

That fastback design makes it look too much like a G35/350Z or as I've commented before a Ferrarri 550. Don't care for that at all.
