Order Banks now open!!
The wonderful Amy B. reports that "the order line is open as of today, the option list will be updated shortly, but the ordering of the car is open."
on the Shelby Autos forums: http://forum.shelbyautos.com/index.php?showtopic=260
She lists the same 54U option code as on the earlier Order Code thread. No prices or options yet...hopefully soon. I have already called the GM at my dealership here...

Plan at 1st attempt at ordering a Shelby GT
Ok, here is my plan. Monday morning, drive down to the local Ford/SVT/Saleen/Steeda/Foose dealer and ask if they would take x-plan on a Ford Mustang GT purchase. When they say yes, submit the option sheet and see if they bite.

T82/140A - GT coupe Premium package
64W - 18” Polished Wheels<O</O
54U - Shelby GT Upfitter's Package
UA - Black Clearcoat
KW - Dark Charcoal interior
44K - 5-speed manual trans
18G - Interior Upgrade Package
455 - 3.55 Limited Slip Rear<O</O
68B - Premier Trim
67L - Satin Aluminum
P.S. Please add the following Shelby Drop ship Code 88WKH7.

Heck of a plan. I've got a dealer who is "guaranteeing" me sticker on a Shelby GT. Of course, this is the same dealer who told me he would get me a GT 500 "at a good deal" which turned out to be $20K over sticker. I am going to see him on Monday, and if I can't get a deal in writing, I am going to drive out to some smaller dealers and try to do this exact same thing...

That price range is probable although prior models have for the most part been underestimated before their introductions by either Ford or the prospective customers.
Hope for the best, prepare for the worst.

2007 Mustang Coupe GT with the above options would be $26795 with x-plan.
Will the 54U - Shelby GT Upfitter's Package be:
1. An option in box that you check like 64W - 18” Polished Wheels?
2. A seperate sticker like they do with Steeda? Where the dealer can charge MSRP or more for the vehicle?
Would a dealer be will to take an x-plan price on the GT part of the vehicle and negotiate a price on the one 54U option? i.e. pay invoice for the GT and MSRP for the option?
How would insurance look at the car? a Ford Mustang with the Shelby option? or a Shelby vehicle?
Do you think Ford Credit will do 5.9%? financing, if not, what is standard rate?

Good luck! I'll know more tomorrow morning.
As for pricing, my thoughts have always been:
$26k for a Base GT
$9k Shelby GT 'Package' (ie. the standard car we've known about since August)
$3k to convert a Bast GT into a Premium GT
=================================
$38k for a fully loaded Mustang GT w/Shelby Package...
...then add in brakes, S/Cer, rims, hood, fog lights, brake duct kits, and more...its not going to be cheap, but will it be a helluva an awesome car? Without a doubt!

My logic for pricing:
1. Mustang GT: $29k msrp, $27k inv
2. Mustang GT/CS: $31k msr, $29 inv
3. Mustang Shelby GT: $35k msrp, $33k inv
4. Mustang Shelby GT 500: $43.5k msrp, $39.5k
The problem is that the Shelby GT 500 will eventually be back to normal pricing for $39500 x-plan price with the S/C, brakes, hood, etc.

x plan on a limited special addition package in affiliation with Carrol Shelby? When the GT first came out there were pratically no dealers that would take it... Can't see x-plan on Shelby GT, I would consider anything around MSRP lucky.

the only thing I have going for me is that the dealer down the road sold all of their GT500s for MSRP....hopefully they won't change thier attitude...
