Ford has the prove.

It's about image, class, and integrity. The car manufacturers that have them won't allow their dealers to destroy what has taken them decades to build.

Like the GT500, nice car but WAY overpriced for what you actually get. In the case of the Shelby GT, your paying over 10-grand for about $2,700 worth of FFRP parts plus some cheap surface decor and the honor of having Shel's name on your car's butt. And that's not even counting the ridiculous ADM that some people are actually paying. Maybe P.T. Barnum was right, so who can blame the dealers as they laugh their way to the bank.

Guess Ford feels they can get away with this, for now at least, given they're the only one's on the pony car game at the moment. But I fear there will be a big comeuppance once the Camaro and Challenger hit the streets in the next year or so.

The Camaro and Challanger will be no different. Chevy and Dodge dealers will do exactly as Ford dealers have.

It was short lived with the Corvette, Prowler, PT Cruiser, and Charger, nevertheless, the dealers tried and succeeded for a while. There is no doubt they will try again.

They'll try, certainly, but with more competition, none of them will be as able to get away with it as Ford has with the Stang.

Thanks Boomer for catching that "language" from North Hollywood.

Who, by the way, do not try to bypass the filters, they are up and working, and since I started this "rat killing", I can end it.

I guess it all boils down to your own personal preference?

Some people want a modded Gt, Others want the "Shelby" package.

Nothing wrong with eithier. Spend what "You" want and I what "I" want...

Its bad enough I had lower my expectations due to the high sticker price of the GT500, but now it looks like I may have to lower them again.

I don't have a problem paying $35k for a 380-400hp Mach1 or Boss. But, I am not going to fork out the extra cash for a 25hp increase.
The GTO had 400hp and the sticker price was in the $33k range. I even saw them selling for $29k at some lots. Yes, the GTO is history, but the point I am trying to make is that if GM can sell a 400hp car for $33k, then so can Ford.

I just have a feeling that I am going to end up buying another Mustang GT, because its the best bang for the buck. I want a SE. But there better be something really "Special" about it, before I spend over $35k!
Leftover '05 GTO's were going for much less than $29K. I priced them when I got my '06 GT and I was told $27.5K without negotiation for one with an MSRP of $34K. When I was watching the LS2GTO.com forums, many got there's for under $25K brand new.

Amen. I think the Shelby LOOKS killer (at least the black one does, I'm not so hot on the white), but that alone can't justify the price for me. Anyways, when I bought my car, the Shelby didn't even exist!

I was up against one last night in the bracket races at my local track and it spit the drive line out during the burnout

Shelby GT #14 in Arizona

Swung by my local Ford Dealer in Peoria, AZ. He has 2 Shelby GT's on the showroom. The black one is CSM No. 07SGT0014. Wow! Number 14 to the public! What's that worth? The Sales Manager, Roger said they were taking bids on it through the end of April. If the highest bid is MSRP, that's what buys it. I can't afford such a great car, but I thought I'd spread the word for anyone who can. Roger is the man in charge. His Phone number is 623-977-8888.

Black, silver stripes, hood pins, Hurst shifter, the works, in all of its glory.

Then I decided to look closer, ok so everything, except Shelby ID plates, and stick-on rear trunk lettering can be purchased from FRPP catalog and
installed on your car.

In my opinion, what gives? I know that its the Dealer available version of the Hertzs Rental, but I'm still confused.

No rear spoiler, duck tail, etc. and whats up with the fake rivets around the perimiter of the hood scoop. They don't attach through the hood itself
just in the scoop?

The wife took one look and said " I"ll keep my '07 GT/CS Vert", walked out
and went back to the service waiting area.

Price? Ford Sticker over $30,000.00 + Shelby sticker over $8000 (including) $1000.00 gas guzzler tax.

According to dealer out the door for $43,900.00 after "mark up"

Just my Opinion
I have the upmost respect for Shelby Inc., Amy B and Carrol
and for what they have done for the industry over the last
50 somewhat years.
But this is not the GT 500 type of bang for the buck.
Nor does it have the status of the '65 GT 350 and GT 500
cars of the past.

I think you are mistaken, I have started to look into purchasing a Shelby GT hood scoop and side emblems with NO luck at all! Unavailable!!
