Gt Upfitters Package

Does anybody know what it means when you do an inventory search of a Ford Dealer on forddirect.com and you bring up a GT with the upfitters package?

I know this is the code for a Shelby GT order, but I thought it was odd that they have a white GT in their inventory with it. List price is $31,330.

Maybe it just shows that they have ordered one that way and haven't got it yet.

That should be the basic Shelby GT before the add ons at Shelby Automotives in Las Vegas. That sets it up from the Ford factory to be changed into a Shelby GT. That is my understanding of the process right now.

FWIW, $38540 is now the base price for a Shelby GT.

I pick up my loaded Vista Blue convertible GT manual on Sunday for about $11k less. I gave up on the Shelby GT last month. Black wheels, 319 instead of 325HP, ADM, Gas Guzzler, the list grows.

Mystery solved

Quote from the dealership
Dear Mark,
I'm sorry, but the car for which you inquired is not available. This is one that is being shipped directly to Shelby for some upfit modifications. Thank your for your interest however with our dealership. If additional information later today changes things, I'll let you know.

this is just the type of Behaviour FORD was counting on when they decided to release the Shelby GT at this point in time!! 6000 Shelby GT's may be made but they will help sell 25,000 left over 06 Mustangs at the same time!!
