just got back from the dealer getting ready to paint the car, it will be repainted from the doors forward. Darn I wanted the GT/CS stripe, but they are using both of them. Also have some shot of the Cervinis 68 ram air hood thats going on it.

 

That is Hot! I can only hope this all works out in the end here Doug!

Doug, any idea how much time in preptime for the hood before painting?

 

Not until it is done, but in the instructions ( which I have not seen ), according to the body shop, it must sit in the sun for 5 days or 8 hours in the paint booth at 140 degrees ( or intil red juices stop flowing when you poke it with a fork. ) This is to leach out the form release oils from it. The Body shop mgr is going to personally paint it to make sure it is done right.
Other than that they said just some priming and sanding... It din'nt look too bad. One of the guys there worked at a boat repair place and is doing the prep work on the hood.

The dealer is building a new body shop and they want me to hold off to have it painted the the new "state of the art" paint booth is finished. They think it will be a better job. It will be ready the week of July 23rd....well its been 4 months, whats another week or two .

 

Yeah another week or two, get it done right!

 

Hey DOUGXOX does this happen to be RUETHER AMC/JEEP your car is at in st. louis? I was there buying a new charger with my daughter (yeah I know its not a mustang) kids! and pretty sure it was your car I was looking at sitting outside the body shop while waiting on them to get her car ready for pick up about 2 months ago. just wondering

Still there, But was told I " should get the call this week."
They got a new body shop built with a " state of the art" paint booth that is dust free.
Cool thing is, Nelly the rap singer is getting a new jeep painted and they will alternate cars in the booth as the first two painted in it. Hope to get some pics of the two together. Cars that is.

 

Don't trust those valet parking people....they are not careful. ......

 

At this point I don't think I will let anyone drive my car.
