I order one waited 8 weeks and nothing finally found one minus the side air bags at a lot 70 miles away and they took my x-plan. I'm very happy.

Congrats on the order ! the 6-8 weeks is a standard line they all seem to use and on the most part close, some sooner & some longer due to what ever hickups arise, eack dealer will get a ststus report once a week, so a good sales person can keep you updated. That is your best contact, there are others , but bottom line YOU WANT IT ASAP Oh I found factory orders seem to be less problematic ?

When I ordered mine it took about 10 weeks. The dealer had the serial number and schedule date in about 3 weeks after I ordered it, but the delay on mine, I was told, was the lack of availability of the wheels. I ordered a short throw Hurst shifter at the same time the car was ordered and waited over 8 months to get that, but as everyone has said, it is worth the wait!

I order all the new Mustangs at a large volume Ford dealership in the NW, and it typically takes 6-8 weeks for 80% of what we order. 18" wheels (including the 64W's on the GT/CS) and manual transmissions had been a bottleneck for most of the last couple years, delaying orders for several months, but that bottleneck is gone now. A smaller dealership with less allocation for Mustangs might need 8-10 weeks to see a special order at this point.

I ordered mine 11/07/2007 It arrived 12/19/2007 and I took delivery with mods on 12/21/2007. The progress through the system is below.

Go to Viperpilot at BlueOvalForums.com and they'll help track your car through the process. If your dealer gave a priority 10 to your order -- you should get it in about 6 weeks.

You'll enjoy the CS -- they're awesome!

It took 9 weeks for mine. There was a hold on the rims when I ordered it, probably because they were going to the Shelby GT's at that point. Once they the hold was gone, I got a VIN, and then a delivery date really quick.

I ordered in October, it was built in Nov 26, and delivered Jan 4. It was worth the wait.

...the best choice for the best car...you'll love it...I know that the stories are around that the S197 has become "too common"....all I know is after a year my CS is still getting second looks and compliments from people....

More important, its still honeymoon time every time I crank it up...with or without the stereo ...

I had my pick of over a dozen from three dealers here in Orlando.Found just the right one.All the goodies I wanted and No heated seats. If you live near a large city your choices are pretty good.
