No schedule date on the status report from Ford. My dealer seemed excited and said this was a good thing. Never ordered a vehicle before so any advice or information you guys can share would be great.

Where did you get that info? You mention Blue Oval, but I'm not sure if you have to contact them to get that info, etc, etc???

 

Congrats on your progress!! Won't be long now until you guys are behind the wheel!! Is there a website to get the produced date? I know mine is being produced this week through the Military car sales website but no other info is put on that site except ship date/arrival at dealer date. It would be pretty cool to know my cars birthday. Calling the ERL is a bit of a pain with the way I bought the car and being over here. If no website is available can I find the date anywhere on the car when I take delivery? Might be a stupid question but thanks for the help.

 

If you have the vin number you go register at the blue oval forums. If you google that it will get you right to it. There is a part of the forum for employees. They reply back when people request tracking information providing they give their vin number.

It's pretty nice. It will tell you where your car is in the process.

CarRamRod, So, I went to the Blue Oval Forum and registered, however I'm not a Ford employee so how do you request your VIN status? I do have my VIN from my dealership. Do you just BS the system as a "Ford employee" and hope to get your VIN info? Thanks, Marty

Go that the site, click on ford employees thread, then at the very top of the threads you will see a stick labeled "2008 Vehicle Order Tracking".

From there you just want to make a post. For example, go to the last page (currently page 4) and look for my screen name (same as here). Then just do the same. A day later, I received a reply from "viporpilot", with the info you see above.

So this just in. My delivery date this week is said to be Sept 8th. Although my order is "said to be" escalated and some specialist is supposed to call me tomorrow or Friday...reason being is because I have been told about 5 different delivery dates and I told them I was about to yank my order and buy a Chevy.. (would never do that tho). Stay tuned....

 

We all hate waiting. I called my dealer today. He is an oustanding guy. If you are South Carolina near Charlotte I will gladly refer you. He says that typically they get updates after Wednesday nights on production dates. That website has been great so far and with his information and my information from the website he is thinking my production date will be next week. He thinks soon because some are scheduled for next week. Just be patient is the best thing we can all do. It is hard to do but you will appreciate the vehicle that much more when you get it. This is the first time I am ordering a vehicle this way but I have a feeling its going to be top notch based on a pm from the Ford employee I received and from what my dealer has explained about the process and his experience with it.

You do not have to be an employee to post at that website. Employees look up the information based on vin number and post back in the tracking forum as was mentioned previously.
