Just got my GT/CS!{ Legacy Post With Tons of Great Professional Pics By Owner!}
next, at the painters...
Took the Stang in today for paint and assembly on the GT500 parts. Working on special rocker panel striping. They said it will take about a week and a half. I'll try and get over there to document some of the process if I can.
WOW! Love the pics Ray (in one of your earlier pics it looks like that guy in the Ferrari was checking your car out, thats priceless
). Love what you have done with your car and must admit that you are a braver man then I to do that glass back roof, I could never trust anyone enough to do that kind of work. Seriously your whole car looks fantastic and your pics are top notch, keep them coming.

I went by the painters today. I hadn't heard anything in a week and was concerned, the owner was supposed to call me last Tuesday. All the parts were painted and cleared and I was told that assembly and buffing would begin today or tomorrow. Looks sweet. The only thing that I didn't like was that they painted the Saleen window trim pieces (I only wanted them installed as is).
The owner is in Florida because his dad just passed away. I was told it would be taken care of.
It's hard living without my Stang! I'm excited to see the final assembly!

Coming along nicely, Ray!
I wonder why they needed your car there for a week? Couldn't they prep and paint all the parts without the car being there?
Then, just drop it off just for the install?
Wow, all those freshly painted parts just hangin' out in the parking lot would make me nervous... one bump of the rack and

Ray Man, you gotta let me know when you're gonna be at a local event so I can check out your car. The roof looks hot! (Hopefully it won't be in the summer
) If you are an early riser, come on over to the Saturday morning meet at the theater in Montrose!

I think that one's the best of the bunch! Just wish that wheel were turned so the logo was level ;-) Glad to see someone else photographing black cars!

I hope you feel better now!
Love that Photoshop!
What an exciting day!!!
I spent most of the day at the autobody shop documenting the teardown and assembly of my Stangs front end Shelby retrofit. The only real hic-up was when we opened the box for the right-side headlight assy, a bracket was broken on it.
I had to drive 45 minutes to Vista Ford in Woodland Hills to pickup a new one (I was really lucky they had one in stock). I'll have to call KC and see if I can return the original.
So... here comes a whole lot of segments showing how the install went. In the next couple of weeks there will be more... spoiler, stripes, etc.
• First up, I've been trying to think of a unique way to put the running horse emblem on the GT500 grill, driving myself crazy
. They just have little straight pins on the back and I don't like the plastic ones on the current Mustangs.
Then it hit me...
I purchased one for a 1968 Mustang. I epoxied a bolt to the back of the emblem. It was such a simple solution. I painted a large washer black and used it as a backing plate (see photos). I'm very pleased with the result. It duplicates what I had on my 1967 Fastback.
