Well its all true ! what the plate identifies that is. I was thinking of doing it but here they want $100.00 up front then they see if I can have it ? or money back then it's $ 40.00 per year to maintain the right to have it. If I paid for it and own the plate I think it a sham to have a reocurring 40.00 a year once its in the system ? This is my only hold back

We have the 07 GTCS plate here in 'Bama, thank god, the wifes first choice was HERGTCS. Anyway, they are limited in production, am still waiting on figures from Ford.

They are a stand out from the GT crowd, except they are still a GT with factory mods (body) bolt ons.
Now if they added 3:73's, 6-spds, etc.

Then it we would have limited editions, and kept the numbers down to 1400 or so per year IMO.

According to Ford's 2007 Mustang brochure, the Calif Special option is limited edition. I'll scan it and post it later since, a few don't believe that Ford had stated the CS is limited.

Yes I have this brochure and for the CS Ford does state it as "limited production"......at least it is in the Canadian one. I plan on keeping this brouchure and showing it to anyone who is not a believer. It is not numbered like the Shelby......but that does mean it is not special.

I think right now that they are just average car buyers. However, if I get one this summer then they will be a rare breed.

Cool special people

I think we are special. This is my third V8 mustang. Just didn't the same G.T as everyone else. The Shelby GT would be nice, but can't justify that much extra money for what you get. GT/CS is perfect fit for me.

According to the 2007 myford order guide, only 5% of production is allocated for the Calif Special option, i recently bought a Redfire GT/CS with all the options except the side air bags, and it was the only one in that color available within a 600 mile radius of So Calif. i have been looking for the right combination of options and it took me atleast a few months, so i would say they are fairly tough to locate, especially with the
CS/GT and apperance package together.

So what people will most likely do then is buy parts and make them ! But I do like the fact that what I bought is original on a factory standpoint.

The GT/CS is the most expensive MUSTANG (not a SHELBY) and it looks it. Most of the buyers I know have old Mustangs too but just love the look. They would have gotten a new GT but when they saw the GT/CS they had to have it........ I have had mine since August. Rarely use it in the rain. Have 4000 miles on it. The mufflers are getting mellower every day. I have put it away for the winter last week and miss it already

Wendy (and pretty much everyone East of the Rockies) I feel for you having to put away your Mustangs for the winter....that must be tough as I need my GT/CS "fix" just about every day and am very lucky how nice the weather is here in SoCal....was driving with the top down in short sleeves just last Friday

OOOH I can't wait to experience that, sooner than later I'm hoping , actually I'll do it even if it snows again ! but not in the rain. ah the West Coast has a few good things about it, The Coastle drive be ONE of them.

Nice car Scott! and Welcome to the site!

I like how your GT/CS side-stripe blends with the red. Although I can't really see my strip on my black car, I prefer it over the GT emblem because, it's a bit unique.

Now wouldn't that make the GT/CS more rare than the Shelby?

1400??? If that is true, it sure would be nice to know that we own a rare breed! I have yet to see another one in my area, I have seen a lot of Stangs but no CS....

2007 order guide says 5% of Mustangs will be GT/CS. If this comes to pass then you are looking at ~8-9000 07 GT/CS'

8-9000 makes more sense. But still only 5% so we are still own a rare breed. It must be a good thing, because I see a lot of posts looking for the CS parts so they can have a car like ours.
