That was my first thought. My friend (who works at an auto shop) told me that I should change mine too. I said WHAT FOR? They work, right?

Brake upgrades are pretty expensive. I would not do anything because someone told you it would be a good idea. If you feel the brakes are lacking then do an upgrade, otherwise leave them as is. Besides with brakes the stopping distance is not decrased all that much with upgrades. The difference in a lot of cases is more consistent stopping power over repeated applications in a situation such as track driving. Less brake fade and better handling of heat and disappation of heat.

Another thing is that if you get bigger brakes, will your doughnut spare work???
Bummer with a flat and no spare. That is the problem with the Cobra, they have a special kit, fix a flat and 12v inflater. Not good if you rip out a side wall.
