I did not see anything on the order guide listing this part or the shifter trim ring. Perhaps this is part of the Sport Appearance Package or Interior Upgrade Package or both?
EDIT: Oops, should have read Tres's post above.
EDIT #2: I don't think it is part of the IUP. Take a look at stevr's '07 convertible with IUP.
EDIT #3: It doesn't seem to be part of the GT/CS either?

I ordered my 07 GT in April before pics of the GT/CS was available. I wanted the GT/CS but what stopped me was the lack of the Black & Red interior (exterior Redfire).
Now after seeing pics of the C/S interiors they are just too much Dove or Parchment (depending on what color you select). Glad I stuck with the regular GT Vert Prem. The only thing I do like on the CS is the front facia, but besides that, nothing is exciting, and the side vent to me are too bulky.
It would have been nice if the GT came with the two tone seats like in Black with red inserts like the GT500 has.
The other silly thing they did was put that GT/CS stripe on it only in black. If you wanted to get racing stripes of a different color, well it would need to only be in black or you have no match.

The very shiny shift **** is part of the Premiere Trim. The leather-wrapped **** with a bright H-pattern is part of the IUP, IIRC. The stock GT **** has a texture plastic/rubber wrapping with a black H-pattern.

I don't recall reading anything from Ford that said that the bright shifter bezel and the different shift **** were included in the GT/CS. And the interior shot shown isn't the interior shot shown in the photo just a regular GT with the Premier Trim Pkg??? I also didn't see these new "features" mentioned for the Premier Trim Pkg either. I'm hoping my car arrives this week so we may just have an answer soon.
Bob - you are correct - you can't get the PTP with the GT/CS....so the GT/CS does not come with the bright shift bezel, bright pedal covers, leather console/armrest/dash areas or that shifter. Curious is that the shifter that comes with the PTP or not and does the leather parking brake handle come with the PTP or is it a Shelby option?

The bright shiftknob comes with the PTP. My 07 has it. Its actually made of aluminum, real nice weight to it.
the leather parking brake handle does not come with ptp though. i am thinking about ordering one as the rubber handle is pretty ugly and i wont be caught dead with that metal cover crap that people put on it.

The thing that looks like a phallus is from the PTP (as someone mentioned).
I have an IUP **** on my table at home. The "leather" looks/feels like the fake leather they use on cheaper office seats, but then again it might be Ford's usual "leather". I'm used to the leather they use for jackets and boots complete with the cowhide smell.
The IUP **** uses a painted silver H-pattern with black text covered with a clear plastic layer. The stock GT/V6 **** uses a black H-pattern with silver text and is covered by a clear plastic layer. The clear layer will scratch up, but it is less visible with the IUP due to the silver background.
I actually prefer non-metallic surfaces since shiny metal objects tend to get hot in the summer. My 81 T-bird has chromed plated door handles, ignition cylinder, turn signal, shift lever, seat belt buckle and latch assemblies, etc... and your hands will burn if the car has sat in the sun.
